According to mmaweekly.com, Minnesota native and current La Crosse, Wis., resident Nick "The Goat" Thompson has signed a new multi-fight deal with Shine Fights.

Thompson is expected to make his debut for the organization in the coming months.

The Goat is a UFC, Sengoku, Bodog, World Victory Road and EliteXC veteran. He has signature wins over Eddie Alvarez and Paul Daley.

Thompson, who has his law degree, is the agent/manager for Eyota mixed martial artist Logan Clark.
“Nick is a world-class fighter, and we’re extremely excited to feature him in our shows,” Shine Fights matchmaker Ron Foster told mmaweekly.com.

Thompson is coming off a pair of losses. He lost to rising star Dan Hornbuckle and Tim Kennedy, though that fight was at 185 pounds and Thompson normally fights at welterweight.

“Over three years I’d gone 22-2 at welterweight, and I couldn’t get a fight," Thompson said in a Shine press release. "It was really frustrating, if you look at my record, I had 50 fights in five years, and all of a sudden I’m going down to two fights in a year. I’m going out of my mind.”

Shine still hasn't announced a date or venue for its next event.
