Minnesota's Brock Lesnar could return to the octagon as early as July, mmaweekly.com is reporting.

UFC president Dana White spoke to members of the media about Lesnar, who is the UFC's heavyweight champion, following a press conference for UFC 109 on Thursday.

"He could probably fight in July, end of June or Jule," White told a group of media, according to mmaweekly.com.

The former University of Minnesota heavyweight wrestling national champion has been away from the fight game going through a serious battle with diverticulitis. Lesnar has now recovered and he has resumed his training.

Back when White didn't know if Lesnar would ever be able to fight again, he put together a fight for the interim UFC heavyweight title between Frank Mir and Shane Carwin. There's also another heavyweight showdown on the horizone between Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira and Cain Velasquez.

White reportedly told media Thursday that he would wait to find out what happens in those two fights before he decides what to do. If the winner of the Mir-Carwin fight comes away healthy, he could fight Lesnar in late June or early July.

Lesnar's last fight was at UFC 100 last July, when he defeated Mir in a match that unified the UFC heavyweight title.
