SATURDAY, APRIL 3

Logan's eighth blog entry —

It is good to have a win streak going again. I didn't get much of a chance to work on my stand up in this fight, but I have a tendency to end fights whenever I see the opportunity, so once I hit the ground, I was attacking and looking for something to bend improperly.

I likely can't give an accurate account of what happened in my fight with Shane DeZee over the weekend, since I haven't seen the video, and I couldn't even manage to recreate the submission I used to finish the fight when we got backstage.

I had my leg in the wrong place entirely. We still haven't named the submission. Nick Thompson came up with Eskimo Claw while I was still in the cage, but I have heard good things about Clarkoplata and Clark Bar. I don't really know if I can get the commission to change the official results, but I am pretty sure I can at least get a database or two to list it however I want.

You will be happy to know that Shane and I are still friends. I am usually very anti-hugging between fighters following bouts, but I made my first exception for that furry man-bear. The end of the fight was probably confusing for the crowd since a lot of them didn't have any chance of seeing what move I was doing. That is really why people cheer KOs more than submission, they can understand what is going on. My apologies for not doing a play-by-play to explain my actions.

I think the promoters will release the tape as soon as they have things edited, so I'll post that here or over at my Web site whenever it is available. I enjoyed the show as a whole. Many fans appreciated the seats available at the general admission level. While I still have some fans who tell me that they only like to watch fights while standing.

I'm headed up to Lake City this evening (Friday). I will be traveling along with Kevin Garlitch for his fight with Kevin Asplund. Kevin has been out of the cage for a couple years, but he never stopped training. He will win this fight if he comes in with the right mentality. I haven't seen many of Asplund's fights, but I know he is wild and dangerous. It should be a really interesting match.

My manager and training partner, Nick Thompson, is fighting Muay Thai in Madison, Wis., on Saturday night. They couldn't find anyone around there who would fight him in MMA, so I guess he will try to jab some guy into oblivion.

I was already back in the gym prepping guys for upcoming fights. We're competing on shows in Onalaska, Wis., on April 16 and Eau Claire, Wis., on April 24. Then things will get even more interesting and busy when May and the summer fight season roll around.

I should be back in competition in May, but I can't release much information until the papers are signed.
